For this dish, we took inspiration from different Asian cuisines to create a salty, umami sauce that is served over chewy rice cake sticks. This type of rice cake is known as “garae-tteok” (가래떡) and is most commonly known from the popular Korean dish “tteokbokki” (떡볶이).
