Football season is back, baby! This is without a doubt my favorite time of year.
There’s nothing quite like sitting down with some delicious food to watch your favorite football team on a Sunday (or Thursday, or Monday…or Friday… or Saturday. Sheesh.)
As a Jets fan, I am particularly fond of posting up in front of the Redzone Channel to watch nonstop football action all day long that isn’t embarrassing to watch.
Nonetheless, good food is a requirement if you want to elevate your football-watching experience.
And while I’m all for ordering pizza and wings, sometimes you want to enjoy something a little bit healthier. Here are some of my favorite macro-friendly recipes to make for game day.
Macro-Friendly Game Day Recipes
Delicious food is necessary during any football game, but you don’t always want to derail your progress in the process. Here are some incredible macro-friendly recipes to elevate your game day experience.
This pretzel skillet is perfect for gamedays! The pretzels pull apart to easily dip into the beer cheese dip in the center.
Fluffy, soft, buttery, and packed with protein. Pair these soft pretzel bites with a delicious high-protein cheese dip, and you’ll have the ultimate high-protein appetizer.
With just a few staple ingredients, we can whip up a batch of mini bagels from scratch and turn them into mini pizza bagels in under 30 minutes!
This Tirokafteri, or spicy feta dip, may just be the most delicious dip you’ve ever had! Zesty, cheesy, delicious, and only 25 calories per serving.
This loaded tater tot nacho skillet is HUGE, with layers of tater tots, beef, vegetables, and bacon, all cooked to perfection. Prep it as an appetizer for the game night, or serve it up as the main dish for your next Taco Tuesday.
Detroit-style pizza is unlike any other pizza out there. It has a thick yet fluffy crust and crunchy crispy edges all around the outside thanks to deliciously melty mozzarella cheese. It’s pizza you have to experience for yourself!
If you’re a fan of heat, this Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich will not disappoint! We’re using the air fryer to create a crispy chicken sandwich, then coating the chicken in some homemade Nashville-style hot sauce.
This creamy taco pasta comes together in just 30 minutes and can easily be made from scratch or by using leftover taco meat! The ultimate crowd-pleaser for taco fans.
Whip up a batch of Greek-inspired turkey burgers without needing a grill. These lean, healthy burgers are made in the air fryer to keep them nice and juicy!
Turn any batch of BBQ pulled pork into a delicious pulled pork slider appetizer that’s perfect for any party.
This buffalo chicken pasta bake is perfect for an easy weeknight dinner or for meal prep lunches throughout the week! With 34g of protein per serving, this is an extremely filling (and delicious) meal.
If you have a bunch of leftover pulled pork that you need to find a use for, this leftover pulled pork casserole will do the trick! It’s layered with a ton of flavor and topped with crispy tater tots for the ultimate comfort food with a healthy twist.
