French roast coffee is a type of dark roast coffee that is roasted for a longer time than other dark roasts. This results in a darker color and a richer, maltier flavor profile. French roast coffee is less acidic than lighter roasts and often has a charred, charcoal-like note
Coffee is dark brown, even close to a blackened color. The beans are characterized by drawn-out oil that glosses the surface. Coffee made from a Dark Roast has a robust, full body. The flavors of the coffee’s country of origin are almost entirely roasted out, taking on a very bold and smoky taste.

Another plus: Insipid hotel lobby or restaurant coffee gets a boost when I pour over or add in one of these, so then that stuff tastes at least somewhat more like coffee instead of almost just brown water. There’s usually a packet in my pocket, just in case.

My boxed packets all arrived as described and pictured when I ordered, all dated Dec 2021 – but I use out of date instant without qualms anyway. What else I like lots: These, like a couple other favorites, do mix readily with room-temperature water, so I can pour a stronger batch over ice, a favorite way to imbibe these days.
